Lemlem was founded in 2007 by supermodel/actress and former World Health Organization Goodwill Ambassador, Liya Kebede. The company aims to preserve the art of weaving and contribute to economic independence in her native Ethiopia. Lemlem means "flourish" or "bloom" in Amharic.
