L'Occitane L'OcciBox December 2014 Review

The "L'Occi Box" is L'Occitane's latest take on a beauty subscription box. It's not a subscription model per-say, it's just a nicely curated box of samples and travel size items. The inaugural box was created in collaboration with Elle Magazine. It retails for $59.40 on the website but you can get yours for just $15 + Shipping & Tax by using the promo code "DISCOVER". [Update: Unfortunately it now appears to be out of stock, but there should be another edition coming our way soon!]

Set of 4 Limited Edition ELLE Hand Creams (o.35 oz each)
Scents (L-R): Cherry BlossomShea ButterAlmond, and VerbenaAll of these hand creams come in their regular edition packaging in full size 1 oz versions for $12 each. I love L'Occitane's signature hand creams and these are just the perfect size to slip into your purse or pocket. The special edition ELLE designs are so adorable. They reflect all four seasons with a little French flair. The Verbena has an energizing citrus scent, the Almond is sweet with some floral notes, the Shea Butter is luxuriously thick, and the Cherry Blossom is very feminine but demure.

Divine Cream Foil Sample Packets x 2 (0.05 oz each)
The full size version is 1.7oz and costs a hefty $106. I recently got a much larger .27 oz jar sample from Beauty Bar on Cyber Monday as part of a special gift with any purchase offer. Really any sample size of this product is great considering how expensive the full size is. The cream is not overly thick but it is effective. It has a very relaxing scent which smells to me like herbs from Provence with a touch of eucalyptus.

Almond Supple Skin Oil (0.5 oz)
The full size almond oil is 3.4 oz and costs $42. This product is supposed to be excellent for people with dry skin concerns - like me! The full size version comes in a spray bottle which I think would be a bit easier to apply on arms, legs, etc. I love the subtle sweet smell of this oil and it instantly made my skin look moisturized with a healthy glow.

Arlésienne Hand Cream (.35 oz)
The full size hand cream is 1 oz and costs $12. This hand cream is inspired by the women of Arles and combines rose, violet, and saffron extracts. It's a really pleasant airy scent. I think this could easily become my favorite from the L'Occitane Hand Cream Bar.

Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lotion (1.7 oz)
The full size lotion is 8.4 oz for $32 or 16.9 oz and costs $64. There's also a 2.5 oz travel size for $11. This lotion is 15% shea butter and is deeply moisturizing. I love the subtle notes of honey and apricot too.

Immortelle Precious Cleansing Foam (1.7 oz)
The full size cleansing foam is 5.1 oz and costs $28. This 1.7 oz travel size is also available for $11.50. This product has great reviews from a lot of women who have very sensitive skin and haven't had success with any cleansers before. It brightens and evens out skin tone on all types of skin. I look forward to trying it out and am so excited to have a travel size facial cleanser. Those aren't easy to come by!

Elle Pouch by SOLEDAD
I just love how French the design is! It's a great size too (about 4" x 6") with a nice sort of waxy feel to the fabric. It seems like pretty good quality that will last a while. I definitely plan to use this little pouch to keep my travel size makeup inside my work bag. The little word bubble on the front says "elles sont trop mignonnes" which translates to "they are too cute" for those of us that aren't exactly fluent in French.

ELLE Nail File & FREE Shea Butter Soap offer
Last but not least were these two add-ons!  The nail file is so cute! It has pictures of L'Occitane's signature hand creams all over it. L'Occitane also included an exclusive offer for a free Shea Butter Soap ($7 value) with any $25 purchase.

Overall I think this box was an excellent value and a great way to try out some new L'Occitane products before committing to the full sizes. The samples are great sizes to stash in your purse or take on a flight. With the $15 discount, I'd say the value is nearly 3 times what I paid (if not more)!
